How to Apply Eyeliner | Applying Eye linerA heavy outline looks hard and stark, especially if it is black, but as eyes seem to "shrink" or become deep set with age, they do need extra eyeliner definition, especially if the eyelashes have begun to thin out. Automatic liquid eye-liners are less than smooth operators on crepe-paper lids, leaving a wobbly line. For best results use a kohl pencil and smudge-blend close to the lash roots to give depth of tone without harshness. You can achieve a similar, crease-resistant effect by tracing dark powder shadow next to the lash roots with a sponge-tipped applicator. How to Apply EyelinerTrace kohl pencil lightly along the lashline, starting a third of the way from the inner corners on both upper and lower lids and moving outward. Use a fine sponge-tip or a brush to smudge-blend the liner well into the lash roots to achieve a softly defining blur. Liquid eyeliner is the hardest eye definer to apply as it needs the steadiest hand, but it does give the most effective finish. Eyeliner can be put on before or after applying your eyeshadow, but if you apply it before it is easier to cover up any mistakes that you might make. Step 1. Step 2. Step 3. Step 4. |
