Right Hair Conditioner, Homemade Hair Conditioner Recipe

Conditioners are basically anti-ageing creams for the hair. A conditioners moisturizing finish smoothes down the hair cuticles, prevents tangles, makes combing easier and gives hair a light-catching sheen. Hair conditioners restore vitality and luster and should be used every time you wash your hair.

Hair conditioners replace moisture and prevent further moisture loss by buffering hair against damage heal styling and arid atmospheres. When the air is moisture-logged, conditioners can also prevent flops and frizzes.

Choosing the Right Hair Conditioner

It is important to choose the right conditioner for your hair type. Dry hair is always crying out for intense, moisturizing formulas. Afro and coarse, curly hair types may benefit from leave-in conditioners, moisturized into the lips to ensure lasting softness and flexibility As curly hair is less able to reflect the light than straight hair, conditioner is also important for its ability to counter a dull finish by building shine.

Conditioning Colored and Permed Hair

Coloured and permed hair need moisture as well as strengthening protein to compensate for the damage of chemical processing. Coloured hair also needs to be protected with a sun- screen, to prevent fading. Fine, floppy hair faces a dilemma. Body-building formulas are ideal for tine hair, but it your tine hair is also dry it will need moisturizing too, although not with a product that weighs the hair down. The practical answer may be to use a moisturizing conditioner, then pump up the volume with a styling mousse. Whichever formula you use, do not overdo it. Often a small amount of the right conditioner concentrated toward the drier hair tips is all you need. Use a lightweight conditioner on very fine white hair.

Opinions differ as to how long you should leave a rinse-oil conditioner on your hair. Some experts recommend a full three minutes - longer it your hair's extra dry. Others say it hardly matters - you can rinse it oil almost immediately. If your hair is not too fine the most important element is even distribution.

To ensure each strand is coated, use your lingers or a wide-toothed comb to spread the conditioner through the hair right to the tips.
