PedicureKeep feet flexible and hard and dry skin to a minimum by following the massage, workout and pedicure routines. Incorporating ankles and the lower leg into your care routine helps improve circulation and eases aches and heaviness. PRACTICAL PEDICUREGroom your feet at least once a week. Try incorporating it into your bath routine 1. Soak feet in a bowl of warm, soapy water. Blot dry with a towel. 2. Rub off dead skin from around the heels, balls of the feet and under the big toes with a pumice stone. Don't use metal files - they can damage and irritate tender skin zones 3. Trim the nails with a toenail clipper. Cut straight across to minimize the risk of splitting or encouraging ingrowing nails. Buff edges smooth with the fine side of an emery board 4. Use the rough side of the emery board to refine any dry skin around the toes. 5. Apply cuticle cream and massage into the base of each nail with your thumb pads. Use a small stick wrapped in cotton wool to ease back the cuticles. 6. Gently massage exfoliating cream or damp sea salt all over the feet, using circular fingertip movements. Rinse and dry thoroughly, especially between the toes. 7. Massage a moisturizing cream over the feet, especially the heels. Avoid between the toes, which must be kept dry and infection-free. Use talcum powder here instead. 8. Using toe dividers to separate the toes, apply a protein-enriched base coat to the nails to strengthen them and help prevent splitting, flaking and nail polish staining. |
