An aromatherapy foot massage is a thoroughly uplifting experience.
Use 1 drop of peppermint oil to 5 ml of almond carrier oil to cool and
refresh tired, swollen feet and boost your spirits. Other excellent oils
for the feet are anti-fungal tea tree and soothing, deodorizing lavender.
How to do a Foot Massage
1. Spread a small amount of oil over the feet, using deep sweeps from
toes to ankles. Support your right foot with your fingers. Use both
thumbs to massage gently between the toes, along the sole of the foot
and around the heel with circular movements. Repeat with the left foot.
2. Use your thumbs to apply a series of
pressures from mid-heel along the
inner arch to the base of the big to e
on each foot.
3. Take the right foot in both
hands and use thumbs to slide
down the soles from the base
of the toes to the heels, several
times. Repeat with the left foot.
4. Taking each foot in turn stroke
upward from toes to ankle,
using firm but gentle raking
movements to reduce
puffiness.
5. Starting from each ankle,
continue the firm, but
gentle massage upward
to the knee. |
